Wexford, PA — October 26, 2016 — Moving Forward Pittsburgh, Inc. will be a provider of 504 and IEP support for parents through its Parent Empowerment Network Program at Solid Foundations Academy at 119 Neely School Road in Wexford. Beth Rupert, former director of Wexford Academy and founder of Solid Foundations Academy, strives to provide quality care to ensure that every child or adult has a sharp mind, strong body and a solid foundation for a successful future.
With its drop-in child care center for ages 6 months to 5 years and its academic pre-school for ages 2-5 years, the accredited pre-school/pre-kindergarten programs truly provide every child with a strong academic foundation. Extracurricular activities like cooking and nutrition classes, Suzuki piano, dance and sports allow young children to experience new things. The SAT/ACT prep courses help older students prepare for the future. And vision and auditory processing, OT, PT, speech therapies, ESL support and 504/IEP advocacy help all students to get a solid foundation for learning.
States Moving Forward Pittsburgh, Inc. Executive Director, Barbara Shafran, M.Ed., “I have had the experience of working with Beth for my own son who has benefited enormously from reading therapy for his reading comprehension issues. I am honored to be working along side of such a knowledgeable educator. Not only does she understand learning from a testing, reading therapy and general cognitive sense, but her background as a former psychiatric nurse gives her insights into behavior and cognition that most educational professionals don’t have. Together, I am looking forward to helping families in the Greater Pittsburgh area to get help for their kids who are struggling in school.
